Radio Free Charlotte is the official radio station for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Streaming online 24/7, we play an incredibly wide variety of music with the highest quality stream of any college radio station in North Carolina. The station is 100% student-operated, with a weekly schedule of on-air shows to cater to the interests of UNC Charlotte students and the greater Charlotte community.
In addition to our regular programming, we're directly involved with a number of activities to make life on campus more enjoyable for students. For instance:
- We broadcast Charlotte 49ers soccer and basketball games, delivered by the hosts of The 91st Minute and The Relay, respectively.
- We host and/or sponsor on-campus events throughout the school year; you may have seen us at Charlotte Dance Marathon, Student Organizations Showcase, and Late-Night Breakfast, (just to name a few).
- We provide opportunities for local and on-campus musical talent to perform on our campus. We regularly host DJ competitions and local artist showcases in the Popp Martin Student Union and Cone Center.
- We frequently hold drawings for free tickets to upcoming concerts in Charlotte.
Radio Free Charlotte is proud to be a driving cultural force, connecting UNC Charlotte's students to the thriving music and entertainment scene that has helped define the "Queen City" as we know it today. Students who are interested in working with the radio station can find us in the lower level of the Popp Martin Student Union, or contact our station manager at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
